Dogs Trust

Basildon, Essex

Located on a former car boot sale site in the Green Belt near Basildon, these buildings comprise a number of specialist facilities designed to enhance the natural character of the landscape without impacting on the surrounding countryside.

Various canine facilities are provided across three buildings: Rehoming, Intake and Training Behaviour & Assessment, with an outbuilding providing overnight accommodation for staff, and a store for maintenance equipment and recycling. Surrounding the buildings will be a diverse landscape to house canine exercise areas including enclosed off-the-lead ‘runs’ and a wooded dog walking area which helps to repair the green belt by extending nearby woodland for use by staff and volunteers. The main Rehoming building includes specialist veterinary and canine care facilities, front-of-house reception spaces for meeting the public, and a Training Barn for education and presentations.
